Alessi, CMJ09 and some Strangeglue

Sadly, Alessi wasn't able to feature on the ADN projects show as she was over in New York, playing the painfully excellent CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival.

Thankfully, the kids over at Strangeglue caught up with her and their chit chat on music, pizza and woody harrelson can be found right heeeere.

Celebration collaboration! ADN projects meets OxBush...

By Karen McBride

Dear Friends

Something wonderful happened today. listen&follow and The ADN Project have joined forces to promote OxBush's excellent line up. With the Oxjam special radio show in production and OxBush at Ginglik imminent, the ADN lads met with Run Toto Run's Rachel and Treetop Flyer's Reid Morrison to discuss their musical influences, their excitement at the upcoming event and playing with Alessi's Ark. And even though the full show is yet to come, featuring music from both bands, you can check out their blog for a preview of the show and the band's interviews.

Enjoy

Ready for for your weekly round-up

Oh my goodness jammers! What a lovely weekend! listen&follow were out on the streets this Sunday making plenty a new friend whilst painting the public's face blue as part of Oxfam's Hear & Now climate change campaign, whilst having their ears blessed by an assortment of wonderful sounds at the Oxfam Kilburn event. Personal favs must have been Slow Club and the Houdini’s Picnic DJ’s. Simply devine I tell yous. And I strongly advise you have a wee listen.

Even our very own Monsieur Reid Morrison was there. Lovely.

So what’s this week got in store for you I hear you cry?! Well, get ready to brace yourself lovelies, because your going to be busy.

The ever lovely Alessi will be supporting the much anticipated launch of Johnny Flynn’s EP four-track EP, called Sweet William, soon to be released on 30th November, of which all seven dates around the UK are already alas sadly already sold out and is not only accompanied by Alessi's Ark but by the lovely Anna Calvi as well. Mean while Run Toto Run will be busying themselves around Brighton for the B-Calling no less and Bournemouth later this week. Wozers.

As for this evening folks, we also have another Oxjam evening taking place, yes, yes, you’ve heard on this one before – it’s OxTram lovelies, Tooting’s very own branch of the Oxfam gigs. Well this is offering you an evening of fantastic acoustic performers with hugely exciting set from anthemic Bournemouth/London band The Fanclub. So grab a mate, if your not already down there, get yourself a cupcake, and have yourself a belter of a night, all with that warm fuzzy glow of doing your bit for Oxfam’s Hear & Now campaign. All set in South London's best bar, The Tooting Tram & Social!

Crippers. That's a whole lotta listening for you eh kids? That should keep your ears busy for now. OxBush update to follow soon.

May I have your attention please! Here's this weekends update for ya...

Well lovelies, if 6 day riots buoyant folk-pop melodies haven't got you out this evening at the Queen Of Hoxton, then maybe you'll be interested in more of our Oxjam friends' goings on.

This weekend both our Oxjam South and Oxjam Kilburn pals will be hosting their much anticipated shindigs in aid of Oxfam. And my oh my sweetpeas, I strongly advise you have a looksy. Having gathered together a shockingly good amalgamation of lineups consisting of plenty of independent acts, with both old and new faces across the river, they both promise a ridiculously exciting Sunday packed with a variety of activities, with out forgetting we're throwing these parties in the first place...

HERE & NOW:
Climate Change Costs Lives. Let’s Sort It. Here & Now.

All proceeds from Oxjam 2009 will contribute to Oxfam's Here and Now campaign. The Here and Now campaign is helping in the following ways:

Dealing with Disaster; Climate change is causing more frequent and more severe natural disasters, with devastating consequences for poor people. Immediate, life-saving support is a vital part of Oxfam's work.

Holding Back Hunger; Unpredictable weather – caused by climate change – means poor people can no longer grow enough food, and many are going hungry.

Fighting For A Fair Deal; World leaders must support poor people in their fight against the devastating effects of climate change.

So why not donate now... and remember that every pound donated to the OxBush justgiving site enters you into our super raffle! Cheesy? Damn right it's cheesy. But hell, you love it. Full raffle list to come soon!

Have an awesome weekend kids,
kisses

Delorean in London!

I usually just tweak with the code for this site and help out with bits and bobs, apart from the cake sales, because I can't cook and my friends will cuss me for walking around with a tray of baked goods.

You lucky people have the OxBush gig to look forward to onNovember 2nd, but what are you going to be doing the following week? Hopefully coming to a night me and my comrades at Lafonoteca are putting on at the Legion on Old St, Thursday November 12th.

We are privileged to be bringing over Delorean for their first London show and this will be big. Already getting great reviews in the Guardian and Pitchfork, we are sure they will be blowing up soon.

Best of all about the gig, we aren't charging for the show. It's free, yes FREE! Tell all your friends and pack it out. The Aryton Senna EP is out now, so go get yourself a copy. Support comes from the Siegfried Sassoon and One Unique Signal, plus an art show from Daniel Mayrit. This will be packed out, so get down early.

Delorean - Monsoon

See you down there.

AHH HUUURR!

Music is great non? I know you agree and I needn't say any more. Watch this video. It was recently pointed out to by a rather close friend of mine that they failed to build a slide over the escalators- the involvement of slide=fun X20. Regardless of this fact and even if we all prefer slides to stairs, I though THIS was very good.

Whyalla hello there - your weekly round-up

6 Day Riot added!

Some of you may be old enough to remember, way back a couple of weeks ago, a time when 6 Day Riot were proud members of our line up.
They sadly went missing when we were forced to change the date and venue. We lost them in the move.

But they found their way back to us anyway!
It is with much joy that I announce the triumphant return of 6 Day Riot.

Welcome home.

Come let's have a little folk-pop dance.
